    There are just no words to say how deeply thankful I am for your amazing care throughout my pregnancy & beyond. When I think back, I do so with such happiness & awe. It is a beautiful model of care you provide, something I will forever be grateful for. I am so inspired by you as a midwife & also a mom. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

    We are eternally grateful for the care and attention we received from you during my pregnancy and the birth of Hugo. We always looked forward to our appointments and I could trust you to help me with any issue that would come up and baby and I were kept healthy and comfortable the day through. Thank you so much for keeping Hugo and I safe while I birthed him at home like I intended. And when I think of all you did for us afterwards brings tears to my eyes! A hemorrhage and hospital transfer would’ve been quite scary but I was mostly able to just feel exhausted because I trusted you would take care of me. And expressing the colostrum to bring to Coco and setting him up for a successful first night with Hugo was above and beyond and we are all thriving today because of you. We have a beautiful memory of Hugo’s birth

    I’m so sorry it has taken me this long to send this! Lena is 12 weeks this weekend - wow! Thank you smooch for your care during my pregnancy You were so patient and compassionate in every season of my pregnancy. Once Lena arrived, your breastfeeding support was vital to my ability to exclusively breastfeed. I feel so grateful & lucky! There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for the care I received with you. Lena is a happy and thriving baby with a happy & content mother because of the love & care that we had. Thank you!!

From the moment we met you in the tea shop in December we were immediately enamored by your calm and caring demeanor and knew you were the midwife for us. Throughout my pregnancy your support was invaluable. At delivery your professionalism & serene nature helped give me the confidence to persevere. Your help with Mercury’s tongue tie has changed my postpartum experience. I am so grateful to you for helping me have a pregnancy and homebirth beyond my wildest dreams with unparalleled love that I never knew was possible. Sorayya -

You embody grace and strength in a way that is really lovely to behold. There is no doubt that you’re incredibly capable - that’s evident right away. You have a reassuring presence that immediately made me think that you’d be great to have by my side in an emergency situation. I wish i’d had more time to get to know you better and learn about your background. But I really enjoyed all the chats we did have and the time spent building a relationship. When you were the first to arrive on birthday, I felt such a complete and total trust. I don’t think I really opened my eyes or made much of an attempt to “fill you in” or explain where I was at because I trusted that you would just know. Your presence was so reassuring everything was moving so fast but when you were there I was able to relax and let my body do what it needed to do.

I cannot wait to tell Esmé her birth story and tell her about the amazing, strong women who delivered her into this world. It’s obvious that you have this calling. It’s not a job - it’s what you were meant to do and it’s more than just medical - you bring a wonderful, personal and spiritual element to birth that has been beautiful to experience. Whatever you do in the future and whoever you continue to help, you’ll be bringing love and life into the world in a truly amazing way. I will be recommending homebirth and midwife care to any pregnant person I meet. What you do is so amazing and I am really proud of it and in awe of you. Thank you again so much for all the supported education you provided. This has been an amazing journey and I’m so honored that you were there for all of it!

    It is so hard to find the words to thank you for the ways you cared for me, Mauricio, and Eliseo on this crazy journey of pregnancy through our first 2 months with Eliseo. I know it didn’t go as we had hoped it would, but your tireless support and holistic problem solving made me feel like we all did the best we could every step of the way. I can’t imagine where we’d be now without your help. I’m so grateful for how personal, thoughtful and nurturing your process is and absolutely wish more women would go the homebirth route. I think I had a relatively unique circumstance to have such a direct comparison between homebirth and hospital birth in the same pregnancy and my time in your hands felt infinitely more natural and empowering! You are both brave women, empathic guides, and inspiring mothers! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for everything you did for us! Thank you! Tons of love and appreciation!

We are incredibly grateful to Sorayya our midwife and her assistant Alessandra for going above and beyond caring for my husband, first born child and I. Sorayya is a special, loving, gentle, compassionate and knowledgeable mother, midwife and woman. Desiring a home birth and holistic care, I was lucky to have found Sorayya who was respectful of my wishes throughout pregnancy. She explained everything and always open to hearing and helping me find answers to any questions or concerns I had. Although things did not go as planned when meconium complications warranted a transfer to the hospital, Sorayya was with us every step of the way as much as possible. She was present and attentive to updates throughout labor and delivery and postpartum. She provided excellent information on recovery and lactation that helped put my mind at ease. We feel very blessed to have had her by our side through this exciting, new and vulnerable time of our lives. Should God grant us another child we would be honored to work with Taarab Birth & Midwifery again.
